Road connections: The main North-South road system including the Lunigiana is the A15 "Cisa" motorway, with toll at Pontremoli and Aulla. The best exit is Pontremoli. This highway at S. Stefano meets the A12 Genova-Livorno then the Firenze-mare (" Florence-sea") highway. The internal connections are provided by a good network of B-roads, the main two being the 62 Statale Cisa and 63 Cerreto: the former from Sarzana, along the Magra river, reaches the homonymous pass up to Parma; the latter links the Lunigiana with Reggio Emilia through Aulella and Rosaro valleys. Arzengio can be reached through the 62 Statale Cisa: at Pontremoli follow the indication at the crossoads, immediately after the Theatre La Rosa. Train links: Through the Parma-La Spezia line, also used as for Lunigiana, by the two daily trains Milano-Livorno and Borgotaro-Firenze (stops at Pontremoli, Villafranca, Aulla) through the S.Stefano-Sarzana leg. The Parma La Spezia line is linked to Carrara, Massa, Pisa as well as to the other major domestic and international lines. The town of Pontremoli is the nearest train station (about 4 km). Air links: The nearest airport to get to Lunigiana is Pisa's. The very new Malpensa Terminal is only two hours far from Lunigiana. ![]()
